With every new collaboration, we’re bringing you something new from an industry leader.  This time is no different.  EARNT is partnering with Design Hotels, the innovative hospitality brand which represents 300 independent (and of course, uniquely designed) hotels across the world. Each property is rooted in cultural authenticity and thought-provoking design and architecture.

It’s this reason, amongst many, that Design Hotels is our first official travel partner. As we become part of their ‘Good Traveler’ mindset, alongside Sungai Watch based in Bali, to make more conscious decisions surrounding our impact on the planet.  Together, we believe that we are the stewards of where we live; for ourselves and visitors alike.  We believe that if we all take care of our own small part of the planet, whether we’re in Canggu, Berlin or London, together we make a very big difference and along the way.

To launch this system, where we create a world where we all take care of the little bit we can, Design Hotels is inviting 20 people to start the cycle with them. In return, they will thank those globally minded citizens with a selection of incredible, gifted stays and discounts at hotels accessible from London and Berlin by train, road, bike or even foot (depending on where you are). 

This time, you won’t know what you are getting until the day but everyone will go home with one of the following:

  • One of ten complimentary two-night stays* at a Design Hotels reachable from London by rail in Paris, Provence, Berlin, Munich or Rotterdam.

  • Dinner for two and an overnight stay at Town Hall Hotel in London’s Bethnal Green

How to get this mini break started…

We like to keep you on your toes, literally, so on May 29th, those who sign up and get a confirmed spot will join EARNT and Design Hotels to pick litter actually ON the water.  We will be getting on paddle boards so we can get serious and pick litter out of London’s canal in Paddington. Following the ‘Paddle and Pick’ we will be heading to one of Design Hotels’ member hotels, Inhabit Southwick Street for lunch where the stays and experiences will be drawn.

80% of all plastics in the ocean comes from rivers.  The Port of London Authority alongside its partners removes at least 200 tonnes of plastic from the river in London each year so whilst we work on our impact here our partner,  Sungaiwatch, is busy doing the most on the other side of the world in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world, Bali.  

Started by brothers and sister, Gary, Kelly and Sam Bencheghib in 2020, they are now a team of 90 passionate river warriors, working every day to create solutions to stop the flow of plastic pollution from going into the ocean in Indonesia.

Their mission is to install 1,000 barriers in rivers across Indonesia which has the unenviable title of home to 90 of the 1,000 most polluted rivers in the world, to stop rubbish from flowing into the ocean.  Earlier this year, Sungaiwatch hit a milestone of having collected 1,000,000kg (yes you read that right) since they launched. Tell me about this lunch?

Lunch is after the paddle and pick at Inhabit Southwick Street. During the lunch we will allocate the ‘Thank Yous’ to all those who attended.

What if I can’t make the lunch after the pick?

We will email everyone with their allocated voucher.

So do I get one of everything?

Whilst Design Hotels and their partners are super generous, you don’t get one of each offer.  We will be drawing the thank you’s and allocating them to each participant after the pick.  This means you could get dinner for  two and a night at the Soho Film Club courtesy of Firmdale’s ‘The Soho Hotel’, you could get an overnight stay for two and a champagne breakfast at Market Street Hotel in Edinburgh or any of the other amazing thank yous.

Is there somewhere for me to shower/get changed?

Yes, here is space to get changed after but we do ask you come dressed and ready!

Are there any restrictions on when and where I can use my vouchers?
