No Running Required

We’re doing things a bit differently with this one, so bear with us.

The Hunchman Trust was set up in memory of “Hunch” — a much-loved dad, lost far too soon. His sons and close friends created the Trust to support young people through grief with connection, community, and purpose. When we heard what they were building, we knew we wanted in.

Together with EARNT, we’re helping turn grief into action — and action into something that brings people together.

This time, it’s not about volunteering in silence. It’s about showing up, being loud, cheering people on, and keeping them going (literally). Whether it’s pointing runners in the right direction or hyping them up when they’re flagging — your energy matters.

The Hunchman team needs a crew of cheerleaders, motivators, and general good vibes specialists.

If shouting encouragement and telling people where to go is your thing — this one’s for you.

This partnership is about presence and LOUD NOISES — because sometimes, shouting your support is exactly what’s needed.

The Hunchman Trust

The Hunchman Trust - Supporting young people through grief with community, connection, and purpose.

The Hunchman Trust is a grant-giving charity that helps young people build strength through loss, with a specialised focus on those affected by suicide. Founded by individuals who understand this journey firsthand, we create a supportive community where resilience can grow.

“Challenge the body to strengthen the mind”

Their approach combines the therapeutic benefits of physical challenges with genuine human connection.  We believe that transforming grief into purpose isn't just possible, it's powerful.

 What they offer:

  • A supportive community of people that show up when it matters

  • Funding for organisations building impactful grief support programmes

  • Opportunities to channel grief into meaningful action through challenges and events

At The Hunchman Trust, through grant-giving work, community events, and partnerships with like-minded organisations, they’re committed to turning pain into purpose, so no one feels left behind.

FAQs

  • You need to make sure the runners know where they are going and keep them going, including crossing roads safely.

So point them in the right direction and especially if you’re at the end- cheer as loud as you can to help them to the finish line.

  • All location points are set up in pairs but we can’t guarantee we will have enough volunteers for each checkpoint so if in doubt, get a friend to sign up too.

  • We will give you the meeting point for each location, give you your high vis jacket and allocate you to your check point.

There are approximately 7 check points per location, some are closer than others, if you have any questions, email us on info@earnt.co.uk

  • There is a very quick introductory zoom call on Wednesday to tell you what to do, it will be recorded so as long as you’ve watched it before you join us, that’s fine.

EVERYONE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. EVERYONE IS WELCOME.
